 Jonilyn, Certified Orthodontic AssistantA little about me… I have been a certified dental assistant since 1993 and a certified orthodontic assistant since 1998. I love camping with my family, outdoor activities such a snowboarding and hiking. My husband and I enjoy south Asian cooking and always try to “out chef” each other. Sometimes you can catch me at community events around town, such as car free day, when I am over 2.5m tall walking on stilts! I love orthodontics because… I love working with people of all ages and being a part of helping them achieve a more beautiful and functional smile. I also love “hands on” work and orthodontics provides me with the opportunity to use all my technical and people skills. |

Josee, Certified Orthodontic AssistantA little about me… I joined Ocean Orthodontics in 2007 with 14 years of clinical experience. I enjoy weight and cardio training, many outdoor activities. I also take pleasure in cooking and interior design. Currently I’m learning a new language. I love orthodontics because… I genuinely care about our patients' orthodontic health and concerns. I take pleasure in providing our patients the knowledge they need to achieve their beautiful smile. Using the most contemporary aesthetic approach and sophisticated technology has broadened my skills and has provided our patients with optimum results. Working with Dr. Douglas and a group of supportive co-workers is a privilege. At Ocean Orthodontics… I am a clinical assistant carrying out all clinical duties related to the orthodontic experience. Occasionally I’m called upon for reception duties such as answering the phones and scheduling appointments. |
 Melissa, Receptionist/Certified Dental AssistantA little about me… I’ve been working in Orthodontics since 2006. Prior to starting my career in orthodontics, I traveled extensively throughout Europe as well as Central and South America. I have a passion for the outdoors, snowboarding, swimming, hiking and baking. I love orthodontics because… I enjoy getting to know the patients and sharing in their excitement as beautiful smiles are created. I also find the variety of tasks involved with orthodontics very pleasurable. At Ocean Orthodontics… I am the first person you will see upon arriving. I schedule your appointments, handle finances, as well as answer the phone, retrieve messages and emails. |
 Kaito, Dental Lab TechnicianA little about me… I joined Ocean Orthodontics in 2008 and take pride in being a part of the team! I take the utmost care in fabricating appliances. I especially enjoy the view from my laboratory window. In my spare time I take pleasure in health and fitness, weightlifting and walking my dog, Tyke. I love orthodontics because… A beautiful smile is something we all deserve. At Ocean Orthodontics… I design and fabricate all orthodontic appliances. |
 Lou-Anne, Treatment Coordinator/Office ManagerA little about me… Dentistry has been my life for many years receiving my dental assisting certification in 1978 and my orthodontic certification in 1985. I joined Ocean Orthodontics in January 2002. I enjoy organizing functions and getting together with friends and family. I have recently taken up golf in my spare time. In the winter months you’ll find me at the curling rink or traveling to sunny destinations. I love orthodontics because… It is fun, exciting and I get to meet new people and share my enthusiasm towards changing smiles. I love explaining and educating new techniques and technologies to achieve the desired smiles. Dr. Douglas is an amazing orthodontist with a great sense of humor, and the team as a whole is awesome. I truly enjoy being at work! At Ocean Orthodontics… As treatment coordinator I will introduce you to orthodontics and explain your treatment options. My goal is to get you as excited about orthodontics as I am! My management responsibilities include overseeing the entire office ensuring it runs smoothly. |
 Melanie, Clinic Coordinator/Certified Orthodontic AssistantA little about me… I joined Ocean Orthodontics in 2007 with 15 years experience. When I’m away from the office I enjoy tennis and hiking. I’m passionate about growing orchids and find pleasure in gardening. I love orthodontics because… It is one of the most fascinating fields of dentistry to be involved in. I especially take pride in being able to build a rapport with various age groups and be a part of creating an amazing smile. The results are rewarding. At Ocean Orthodontics… I am responsible for keeping the clinic organized and running on time. My duties include all tasks related to an orthodontic clinical assistant as well as ordering supplies for the office. |
 Kyla, Certified Orthodontic AssistantA little about me…… I’m a graduate of Vancouver Community College. I joined Ocean Orthodontics in January 2006. I enjoy the Vancouver lifestyle, often you’ll find me golfing or playing tennis…..I also take pleasure in reading. Travelling is high on my list of favorite things to do. I love orthodontics because….. Meeting new people and building great rapport with patients as their smiles are being transformed is very rewarding. Our use of cutting edge technology makes orthodontics exciting and fascinating. At Ocean Orthodontics…. I am a clinical assistant with some treatment coordinator duties. My duties include working in the clinic as well as some reception. |
